BS5163 Gate Valve

BS5163 gate valve is a special valve for water supply system designed according to the British standard BS5163. It belongs to the cut-off valve made of cast iron or ductile iron. It is mainly used for the opening and closing control of fluid pipelines such as clean water and sewage. Its core certification standards include flange connection size, sealing performance and operating specification requirements, and are suitable for the nominal pressure range of PN10-PN25.

2. Core structure and technical characteristics

Valve body material: ductile iron (QT450) or cast iron (HT250), with epoxy resin coating (>=250μm) sprayed on the surface to improve corrosion resistance; cast steel (WCB) can be selected for high temperature conditions;
Flow channel design: full-diameter flat-bottom valve seat to avoid impurity deposition, flow resistance coefficient <=0.08 (optimization is particularly significant when DN>=200).

‌Soft seal type‌: The gate is entirely covered with EPDM or NBR rubber layer, and the compression deformation reaches 5%-10% to form an elastic seal, and the leakage level reaches ANSI Class VI;
‌Hard seal type‌: The gate and valve seat are welded with Stellite alloy (CoCrW), which can withstand temperatures above 450℃ and is suitable for high-pressure oil and gas media.

‌Operation mode‌: Standard manual lever (in accordance with BS5163 operating torque specification), DN>=300 expandable pneumatic/electric actuator; ‌Valve stem structure‌: Both rising stem type (opening visualization) and concealed stem type (compact installation) coexist, and the valve stem material is 2Cr13 stainless steel or brass (corrosion-resistant environment).
